Grill Cook

Join our team as a full-time Grill Cook at the Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana, Indiana. Experience working in a commercial kitchen grill area is preferred! The pay is $16.00 to $18.00, based on experience.

Days and hours:
• Five 8-hour shifts per week
• A mix of days and evenings
• Saturdays are required
• No Sundays

Shift Manager

The Blue Gate Restaurant seeks a dedicated front-of-house Shift Manager to join our team. As Shift Manager, you will ensure smooth day-to-day operations. You will manage employees, deliver exceptional guest satisfaction, and plan for success each shift.

Shift Manager Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Reservations Specialist

Be one of the first voices—and faces—of Blue Gate Theatre! Our Guest Experience & Reservations Specialists help guests plan memorable visits by booking theatre tickets, hotel stays, and dinner/theatre packages; answering questions; and providing friendly, accurate service by phone, online, and in person at our venue box offices. Specialists also provide general information and help direct calls to other Blue Gate businesses. This position plays a crucial role in delivering our customers' Blue Gate Brand products, and therefore must be friendly, patient, professional, and organized!


A Guest Experience & Reservation Specialist will work a year-round rotating full-time or part-time schedule, from three to five shifts per week, between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm, including every other Saturday. They will also rotate between box offices at both venues – Blue Gate Music Hall & Blue Gate Performing Arts Center. Customer service, sales, or clerical experience is preferred, and previous box office or ticketing experience is a plus! We provide paid training for 3-4 weeks. Pay starts at $16.00 per hour.

Ice Cream Shop Associate

The Blue Gate Garden Inn, Shipshewana's Number 1 Hotel, is seeking persons to work in our Ice Cream Shop! The starting rate is $15.00 per hour.

Days and hours:
• Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
• 5 pm until closing (usually finish between 10 and 11 pm)
• Arrive at 4:30 pm when opening the creamery.

Responsibilities:
• Scooping and serving ice cream, shakes, and drinks
• Opening and closing tasks
• General cleaning and sanitizing
• Operating a cash register and handling money.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Event Staff

Are you looking for a part-time job to change your pace or want to get out of the house a couple of times a week? Would you like to be part of the concert-going experience? Then, join The Blue Gate Theatre Event Staff at Blue Gate Performing Arts Center & Blue Gate Music Hall. As a valued event staff member, you will meet interesting people, attend concerts & shows, and experience what happens behind the scenes - while getting paid!

 Our Performing Arts Center hosts headlining concerts by artists in various genres! From Blackberry Smoke, Charity Gail, Clint Black, Jeff Foxworthy, Jason Crabb, Jeremy Camp, Joan Jett, Larry the Cable Guy, Lady A, Lone Star, Mannheim Steamroller, Michael W Smith, Scotty McCreary, Skillet, Trisha Yearwood, ZZ Top, and many more!

  • As an Event Staff team member, you will:

 Pay starts at $15.00 per hour. Shift hours vary from three (3) to five (5.5) hours each, with a required minimum of three (3) shifts per week. The number of shifts will vary depending on the season.

 To qualify for our Event Team, you should be computer- and tech-savvy, self-motivated, a fast learner, able to work well under pressure, able to stand for long periods, able to lift up to 25lbs, skilled at problem-solving, friendly, and professional.

Housekeeper

 Join our team at the Blue Gate Garden Inn as a housekeeper. Housekeeping duties include cleaning guest rooms, hallways, and public areas, as well as other assigned tasks. A housekeeper will work from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a 30-minute off-the-clock break five times weekly, including weekends. Saturdays and Sundays are required! 

 We are seeking someone to work five days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, and another person to work Saturdays and Sundays each week. Pay starts at $16.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential on Sundays. These are year-round positions, not seasonal.

 This is a part-time position. You will work evenings, up to three weekly shifts (three to four hours each). The exact times will vary. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are required! Adult pay starts at $15.00 per hour.

Furniture Sales Associate

Shipshewana Furniture Company seeks a full-time Furniture Sales Associate to join our team of friendly, customer-focused people, who are focused on building meaningful relationships with our guests that will lead to repeat business. Dedication to continued growth & commitment while supporting our close-knit team is a must! We are looking for someone passionate about helping others with an engaging personality. The job will include assisting customers in purchasing heirloom-quality, locally made furniture (hardwood indoor furniture, upholstered furniture, and outdoor furniture), accurately writing quotes and orders, supporting other team members, and facilitating store operations assigned by the manager. Our products speak for themselves, and our professional sales team consults and guides, helping customize furniture as needed to meet our guests' needs!

The Furniture Sales Associate will work 4-5 days a week (including Saturdays) on a flexible schedule that will vary by season. Our stores are closed on Sundays. Experience in sales and customer support is preferred but not required. Based on experience, pay will range from 40-45K annually, including hourly and team incentives.

Join us at Blue Gate Hospitality as a banquet server. We are looking for friendly, guest-focused, high-energy people to serve groups at events in Shipshewana. Bakery Associate/Cashier

Join us as a bakery associate/cashier at the Blue Gate Bakery in Shipshewana, Indiana. As a bakery associate/cashier, you will provide excellent service while helping customers purchase delicious baked goods, including homemade cookies, donuts, fudge, pies, and more! A bakery associate/cashier stays busy assisting customers, taking accurate orders, using a cash register, stocking and rotating products, packaging, pricing, and helping the bakery team with other tasks.

Bakery Associate/Cashier Responsibilities

Other responsibilities include:

  • Making salads and sandwiches.
  • Stocking and organizing the line.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the workstation.
  • Preparing and cooking chicken.
  • Operating fryers.

 You could be a good fit for this position if you are detail-oriented and enjoy a fast-paced work environment.

 We need someone to work part-time, up to four shifts per week, between 10:30 am and closing. The hours may vary. Saturdays are required! Open availability is preferred! We are closed on Sundays!

 The kitchen line worker will start at up to $17.00 per hour based on industry experience and availability. Experience is preferred, not required, and we provide paid training. Our kitchen staff is cross-trained, allowing each person to develop new skills and reach their full potential.

Buffet Attendant

Food Prep Worker

Join our kitchen team as a food prep worker at The Blue Gate Restaurant. We are a busy restaurant located in the heart of Amish country, welcoming visitors from all over the country. We are focused on teamwork and delivering a consistent, high-quality product. Your effort will ensure that guests enjoy a good meal and leave with a smile.

 

Food prep workers' responsibilities include the following:

Preparing food.

Following recipes.

Making simple dishes.

Assembling and plating meals.

Cleaning and sanitizing your work area.

Other tasks as assigned.

 

Experience in the food industry is helpful but optional. We cross-train all team members to provide them with the knowledge and skills to work in all areas of our kitchen. 

As a food prep worker (full-time or part-time), you'll work up to five times per week, including Fridays and Saturdays (required). We have a day shift, working up to 4:00 pm, and the 2nd shift, working from 2:00 or 4:00 pm until the kitchen closes. Open availability is preferred! Adult wages range from $18.00 per hour to $18.00 per hour, based on industry experience and availability.

Prepare food properly as trained and instructed.
