Schwartz Family
The Schwartz Family is a Christian Country music group from Sturgis, MI. They are known for their original music, written mainly by group member Tobey Schwartz. Tobey has had songs released by groups such as Malachi and The Inspirations. The Inspirations recorded Tobey's song I Will Praise Him, and in 2005 it was voted one of the top 5 Southern Gospel songs in Southern Gospel music and nominated for song of the year at the National Quartet Convention.
The Schwartz Family has performed with many well-known artists such as Jeff and Sheri Easter, The Greenes, Heritage Road (Mid South Boys), The Franz Family, Mark Trammel Quartet and Marty Raybon (formerly with the Country group Shenandoah).
The Schwartz Family is truly a family group. Tobey, Jesse, Carma and their sister Rita Schwartz-Taylor all sing and write most of the music. Jayson Kelley, who is married to Carma, takes care of all the manager duties and plays guitar. Jay Kelley, Jayson's father, plays guitar, mandolin, banjo and fiddle. Michael Keeley, a cousin to the Schwartz family, fills in as the drummer.
