Grand Piano Extravaganza

Five grand pianos. Five grand pianists. Your favorite Christmas songs like you've never heard them before.

The Blue Gate Theater is pleased to offer an incredible evening of music. Featuring five of the best Southern Gospel Pianists in the country and a favorite guest of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir! The evening will feature the pianists performing all of your favorite Christmas favorites, including specially written arrangements just for this weekend. Stirring solo pieces will weave together with the movements featuring all five pianists to create a wonderful musical Christmas service. Piano phemom Kim Collingsworth will lead the all-star cast of pianists that include: Stan Whitmire, Tim Parton and the Hayes Sisters. Plus, a performance by a favorite guest of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and Gaither Homecoming Vocalist, TaRanda Greene! The evening promises to be a memorable and moving experience as we celebrate the King!

Meet the Stars:

Kim Collingsworth
Kim Collingsworth (Collingsworth Family) may be the best female pianist in the country, certainly the best in her musical genre - with numerous awards! Kim is well-known for her phenomenal mastery of the piano and the extraordinary talent God has given her is a part of each concert.

Janet Paschal
Internationally acclaimed as a gifted songwriter, vocalist and author, Janet Paschal has ministered worldwide for more than two decades, occupying a place among the genre's top musical artists. One of today's most sought after and admired Christian artists, Janet has received multiple Grammy and GMA nominations. In 2005 she was named Diamond Awards Soloist of the Year. Known for her gentle humility, authentic warmth and engaging graciousness, Janet's sweet spirit has uniquely endeared her to the countless devoted fans who enthusiastically follow her career. Yet it is her unwavering faith that has been the greatest source of inspiration to all who have been blessed by her journey throughout the years.

Stan Whitmire
Dove Award-winning pianist, with a list of accomplishments, both diverse and impressive. He brings to each performance a rich musical heritage spanning several generations and covering a variety of musical styles. Some of his musical credits include serving for five years as keyboardist for the Grammy Award-nominated and Dove Awardwinning vocal group, The Nelons, traveling with them throughout the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Many artists with technical training play mechanically, and many with feeling are limited technically - not Stan, who accomplishes both, accurately covering the entire keyboard, yet still playing with deep emotion. His passionate presentation of varied stylings will lift your spirits and nourish your soul.

Tim Parton
Tim Parton is a self taught piano player that has been gifted with the ability to play the piano by ear. At 6 years old, he began to play and ever since then has been blessed to travel the country doing what he loves most, playing the piano. Tim was the pianist for Legacy Five for 5 years.

The Hayes Sisters
Janet Hayes-Haas, the oldest of three children, gives her expertise as a keyboardist. She has also penned several songs for The Hayes Family which are among the favorities they perform each time they sing. Sharon Hayes-Hodges, whose vocal quality is of the highest form, is accepted by fans and peers alike. Her exceptional keyboard abilities make her a favorite for all to see and hear. She and Janet double on the keyboard, delighting every audience!
